A graduate of B. Voc. in Patient Care Management is an all-rounder for taking care of patients while considering his medical conditions. The course envisages building overall expertise in the student, of managing patients with care, whether it’s an in-patient or someone in the out-patient department (OPD) or anywhere else in the hospital. Patient Care Management professional would be capable of offering a range of services from pediatrics care to geriatric care to cardiac care or care of cancer patients. They learn to handle real-life healthcare delivery situations.
Besides skills related to the personal care of patients, the basic nursing procedures, patient ambulation and handling, storekeeping, biomedical waste disposal, public health care regulations, medical ethics and information technology as well as operations management etc are the major roles in this profession. In short, we can say that a Patient Care Management student manages the entire patient’s life cycle. The need of such a capable professional has been not only expressed by the healthcare industry employers but also by the consumers of this industry i.e. patients.
